How We Calculate Monthly Cleaning Costs

Our pricing is designed to keep billing predictable and consistent, while still accounting for the real-world variability of cleaning.

When we set up service, we estimate the average amount of time needed to maintain your home at the level you expect. We take into account things like home size, cleaning frequency, overall condition, pets, and any priorities you’ve shared with us.

Because every home - and every visit - is a little different, actual time on site can naturally vary from clean to clean. Some visits take a bit longer, others a bit less. Rather than changing your price constantly, we aim for a balanced monthly total over time.

How the Monthly Estimate Is Calculated

Here’s a simplified example of how monthly pricing works:

1. Estimated average time per clean

We start with an estimated average number of hours per visit.

Example:
A home estimated at 3 hours per clean, cleaned every two weeks

2. Per-clean estimate using the base hourly rate

We multiply the estimated hours by our current base rate.

Example:
3 hours × $65.00/hour = $195.00 per clean

3. Consistent monthly amount

Rather than charging per visit (which would fluctuate month to month), we spread the cost evenly across the year.

Example:
$195.00 × 26 cleans per year ÷ 12 months
= a consistent base monthly service amount of $422.50/mo

This helps avoid months that feel unusually high or low due to calendar quirks.

4. Your final monthly total

Your quoted monthly price is made up of a few pieces:

• Base monthly service amount (calculated above)

• Mileage fee (usually $15–$40/month, depending on location) — this is typically bundled into your quoted monthly service price as one line item

• Payment method fee (4% if paying by credit card; ACH has no fee)

• Minnesota sales tax, which varies by location and is applied to your total

Example:

Base monthly service (including mileage): $422.50
Credit card processing fee (4%): $16.90
MN sales tax (example): $36.00

Estimated total monthly charge: $475.40

A Note on Timing & Variability

Cleaning is hands-on work, and no two visits are exactly the same. Rather than adjusting pricing constantly based on individual cleans, we aim for a fair average over time.

A Note on Labor Hours

When we estimate cleaning time, we’re calculating total labor hours, not just time on the clock.

That means if two cleaners are in your home for three hours, the total labor time is six hours.

For example:

1 cleaner for 3 hours = 3 labor hours

2 cleaners for 3 hours = 6 labor hours

3 cleaners for 2 hours = 6 labor hours

Our pricing is always based on the total number of labor hours needed to maintain your home at the level you expect.
